Mobile Engineer (Flutter)
About Change
Change has been around longer than most fintechs you've heard of. Our Dutch entity was incorporated in Amsterdam in 2010, and we have been MiFID II authorised since 2015 — a decade of operating as a regulated investment firm. Today we serve around 120,000 verified users across all 30 EEA countries, with full passporting rights, and we are MiCA-authorised as one of the early CASPs in the Netherlands.
We operate an app-based investment platform built for retail investors. Our users trade cryptocurrencies, alongside CFDs on stocks, indices, currencies, gold, oil and other financial instruments — all in one place, on mobile, with the regulatory protections of a Dutch investment firm.
We are a small senior team with a practical, low-bureaucracy culture. We value ownership, clear processes, strong judgement and real operational discipline over unnecessary ceremony.
Our product is our app. Everything a user experiences of Change — onboarding, KYC, funding, trading, custody, portfolio — happens on mobile. We are hiring a Mobile Engineer to help build and operate our Flutter app as a first-class, money-moving product. You'll work alongside our Senior Mobile Engineer, and you treat AI agents and tooling as a core part of the SDLC.
What you will do
Own features and domains end-to-end. Build, ship and maintain meaningful parts of the Flutter app across iOS and Android — from architecture and state management through to performance and release quality — contributing to technical direction alongside the Lead Mobile Engineer.
Ship against real, regulated, money-moving flows. Trading tickets, order books, charts, funding, custody and portfolio screens — built to be correct, fast and trustworthy under real market conditions.
Raise the mobile engineering bar by example. Clean, well-tested, observable Dart/Flutter code with a sane architecture that other engineers want to read and extend.
Own the release pipeline. CI/CD, App Store and Play Store submissions, staged rollouts, crash monitoring and the boring discipline that keeps a regulated app stable in production.
Define and prove out our agentic SDLC on mobile. How we use coding agents in design, review, testing and incident response. Make the patterns explicit so the rest of the team can copy them.
Partner closely with backend, product, design and compliance. Speed and regulatory standing are not in tension here; we expect you to deliver both.
Who we're looking for
Engineering depth
3+ years building production mobile apps, with strong, recent Flutter/Dart expertise shipped to both the App Store and Play Store.
Deep understanding of state management (Bloc, Riverpod or similar), app architecture, and managing complexity in a large, long-lived codebase.
Comfortable with the native layer where it matters — platform channels, native SDK integration, and debugging iOS/Android-specific issues.
Strong grasp of app performance, memory, offline/real-time data, secure storage and mobile networking against REST/WebSocket APIs.
You care about correctness in money-moving flows: idempotency, error states, edge cases and the realities of a client talking to distributed backend systems.
AI-native, agentic-first
You use coding agents (Codex, Claude Code, Gemini, Cursor or similar) daily and understand both their strengths and failure modes.
You have built or customised at least one real agentic workflow, tool or automation used in practice.
You have clear judgement on where humans should stay in the loop in regulated environments. You are not impressed by demos.
You are impressed by evals.
You know how to provide the context, structure and guardrails agents need to operate effectively across complex tasks.
Mindset
You communicate in writing well enough that meetings shrink. You write design docs that other engineers actually read.
You give and take direct feedback without making it personal. You are visibly comfortable saying "I don't know" and "I was wrong".
You want to grow your scope and impact here — not because of the title, but because you want the leverage. We will invest in that growth.
Nice to have
Experience in a MiFID II, MiCA, PSD2 or similarly regulated environment.
Familiarity with trading product surfaces — order tickets, charts, watchlists, order books and portfolio screens.
Experience with market data over WebSocket, real-time charting libraries, or high-frequency UI updates.
Native iOS (Swift) or Android (Kotlin) experience alongside Flutter.
Open-source contributions, particularly in the Flutter or agent/MCP ecosystem.
Greek or Dutch language is welcome but not required — we work in English.
